Use your phone as a wireless camera (and set it up like an app)

Your phone already has a better camera than most webcams. PrepVid lets you use it as a wireless camera while the teleprompter scrolls your script — no cables, no extra software.

That's it. The moment your phone opens the page, your computer connects automatically and the live preview appears.

First time on this phone

The very first time, your phone needs to trust PrepVid's local camera connection. In the connect panel, tap “First time on this phone? Set up trust”, scan the small QR, install the profile, and turn on trust in Settings → General → VPN & Device Management. You only ever do this once per phone.

Set it up like an app

To make your phone feel like a dedicated camera — full screen, no browser bar, and no QR code next time — install the page to your home screen:

• iPhone: tap Share → Add to Home Screen.
• Android: tap ⋮ Menu → Add to Home Screen.

Now "PrepVid Cam" lives on your home screen like any other app. Open it, and it reconnects to your computer on its own.

Record

With the phone connected, hit record from your computer. Clips land back in your project, ready to review and trim. Read your script from the on-phone teleprompter while you film — and you can even edit the script on your computer mid-session without dropping the connection.
